Evaluation will go both ways in this class.
1. Student evaluation
Here is our proposal for grading. Please let us know if this seems fair to you.
Reaction papers: at least two, each of around 500 words; at least one in each of the two units of the class = 20% (10% each). Reaction papers will have to be posted on this blog, so that we can all enjoy them
.
Mid term exam: 1-3 questions, open book = 40%.
Final exam: 1-3 questions, open book = 40%.
The fact that there are two exams in this class makes things easier, take our word for it. There’s less to study for each of them.
2. Teacher evaluation
We’ll ask you to fill in two feedback forms. You’ll get the first after you receive the grade for the midterm, so that you can tell us what you think about our teaching and our grading. The second we’ll ask you to fill-in in the last meeting of the class.
Formal evaluation aside, we encourage you to tell us what you think of the class at any time.
